Jurassic World Dominion Reunites The Original Cast
Universal Pictures unveiled the first trailer for the highly anticipated film Jurassic World Dominion which is billed as the “epic conclusion of the Jurassic Era”. The film isn’t just the conclusion of the Jurassic World trilogy that began in 2015 but it’s also the grand finale of the six-film Jurassic Park saga that was started by Steven Speilberg in 1993.
Jurassic World Dominion is set to be released in theatres on June 10.
Taking place after the events of 2018’s Fallen Kingdom, Dominion sees humanity attempting to live alongside dinosaurs but things aren’t going well. Dinosaurs now live in the wild and no human city or settlement is safe from the prehistoric beasts.
The official plot synopsis for the film confirms a time-jump after the events of the Fallen Kingdom, which explains why dinosaurs are present pretty much everywhere. “From Jurassic World architect and director Colin Trevorrow, Dominion takes place four years after Isla Nublar has been destroyed. Dinosaurs now live — and hunt — alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history’s most fearsome creatures.”
Surprisingly, it seems that the “modern” Jurassic World era represented by Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire Dearing) will team up with the “original” Jurassic Park heroes featuring Jeff Goldblum reprising his role as Ian Malcolm, while Laura Dern is back as Dr Ellie Sattler and Sam Neill as Alan Grant.
The movie has struck the nostalgia chord quite well with long time fans of the series, which is something we are seeing quite often. Dominion is directed by Colin Trevorrow, who directed Jurassic World but not the sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
After almost two decades of storytelling, Jurassic World Dominion is a chance for everyone to reunite and end their epic journey. Check out the action-packed trailer below!
