‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’ Introduces a New Hero
Earlier this week, Marvel Studios dropped the first trailer for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, a Disney+ series. The nine-episode Disney+ show is the first Hulk-centric project in the MCU since The Incredible Hulk (2008). Considering that Universal Studios owns the rights to a “standalone Hulk film”, this series is probably the best thing Hulk fans can get for quite some time.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will be streaming on Disney+ on August 17, 2022.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law follows the story of Jennifer Walters as she navigates her complicated life as an attorney while managing her powers as She-Hulk. It’s been established that the series will follow superhuman-oriented cases, so it’s likely that we will see some familiar characters show up or if fans are lucky, perhaps another attorney like Matt Murdock.
In the comics, Jennifer Walters gains her Hulk transformation following a blood transfusion from her cousin (Bruce Banner). While the trailer doesn’t specify much, it will be interesting to see if the MCU tweaks her origin story to fit the narrative.
Marvel Studios has gone all-in on its Disney+ shows lately. Moon Knight just wrapped up last month and we have Ms Marvel around the corner. With She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’s new trailer, Marvel has definitely got the attention of fans, though not all of them were pleased.
The main criticism from fans is the CGI and VFX effects in the trailer. She-Hulk and Hulk are visually unappealing when compared to Marvel’s previous projects. To be fair, the series is still three months away and, likely, the computer effects for the show are still in progress.
Despite its criticism, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law reached 78 million views in the first 24 hours of its release – the second-highest for any Disney+ show after The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
The Cast of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will feature Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk and fan favourite Benedict Wong as Sorcerer Supreme Wong. The series will also see the return of Tim Roth (Abomination) to the MCU for the first time since The Incredible Hulk (2008). The rest of the cast includes Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Jon Bass and Renée Elise Goldsberry.
