The Conjuring 3 Trailer Reveals a New Spine-Chilling Case

Warner Bros has dropped the first official trailer for The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It which is based on one of the most sensational cases from The Warren’s files. It will reveal a hair-raising story of horror, murder and demonic possession that even left paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren shell shocked.

The Conjuring 3 is slated for a June 4, 2021 release in theatres and on HBO Max simultaneously. Subscribers of the AT&T owned platform will be able to stream the movie at no extra cost for one month since its release. The film was originally supposed to release in September last year but was pushed back due to the pandemic.

The film will mark the eighth instalment in the Warner Bros. Pictures owned The Conjuring Universe.

The movie is based on a real-life trial of Arne Cheyenne Jackson from the files of Ed and Lorraine Warren. The historically famous case was the first of its kind in which the defendant claimed innocence under demonic possession which denies him responsibility for the crime.

“The court accepts the existence of God every time a witness swears to tell the truth. I think it’s about time they accept the existence of the Devil,” this line by Patrick Wilson in the trailer pretty much solidifies what you can expect from the movie.

The third instalment of The Conjuring series will see Ed and Lorraine Warren investigating a criminal case where the suspect claims that he was under demonic possession when he committed the murder. In order to prove the innocence of the accused, the Warren’s will have to prove the existence of the devil in the courtroom while they confront the supernatural demons themselves.

The Cast of Conjuring 3

Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson will reprise their roles as real-life paranormal investigators Lorraine and Ed Warren respectively. Sterling Jerins will also return as the duo’s daughter Judy Warren.

With a new case, we will see several new faces in the upcoming movie. Irish actor Ruairi O’Connor will play the accused murderer Arne Cheyenne Jackson with Ronnie Blevins being cast as Alan Bono. Charlene Amoia (Judy Glatzel) and Julian Hilliard (Judy Glatzel’s son David) will play key roles in the movie. The latter young actor is well known in the horror genre due to his role in the Netflix series The Haunting of Hill House.

The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It will be directed by Michael Chaves, who previously helmed The Curse of La Llorona (2019) in The Conjuring Universe. This film will be the first in the main series to not be directed by James Wan.
